Abigail Beall is a science journalist with a focus on physics, astronomy and cosmology. She has a master's degree in physics from Durham University and a MA in Science Journalism from City University, London.
Abby is currently a features editor at New Scientist and writer of the monthly column Stargazing at Home. She has written about everything from why we need more female astronauts and whether reality exists when we’re not looking, to an abridged inventory of the universe. She is the author The Art of Urban Astronomy: A Guide to Stargazing Wherever You Are and co-author of three popular science books for Dorling Kindersley.
Before joining New Scientist, Abby spent five years working as a freelance journalist. In this time, she regularly wrote for BBC Future, Wired and BBC Science Focus magazine. She has two dogs.
